Using the Workout Functions

Before a student may use the workout function, he or she must have been enrolled at the school web site and have at least one (1) assessment recorded by a teacher at the computer. At the end of the workout session, each student should update his information by touching the green Workout button. The resulting screen will present an on-screen keyboard and ask for the user ID. Type user ID into the box using the on-screen keyboard and press the Enter key when done.

Type the password into the box on the next screen and press Enter again. The system will verify the accuracy of these two entries. If user ID and password are correct, the following screen will instruct the student to watch the Tanita platform window.

In bare feet (without shoes or socks), step onto the Tanita platform when the small arrow begins blinking next to the Step On message, found at the lower right of the Tanita screen. See the screen example below showing the triangular arrow positioned next to the Step On message. It is important to remain motionless while data recording is taking place. When the Tanita senses weight, but no motion, it will record the weight and then display four (4) black tabs with white arrows across the bottom of the screen, as in the example below. These will disappear, one at a time, while the Tanita records the percent body fat.

Do not step off the platform until the arrow tabs have disappeared and recording is complete, signaled by a beep from the Tanita. When recording is done, the kiosk screen will automatically display the student's height, age, gender, weight, ohms, percent of body fat (pbf) and body mass index (BMI) information.

When finished reviewing the information, touch the brown Next button the bottom right of the screen, which returns the user to the opening screen.
